American Arena League Co-Founder Tim Viens Steps Down

The American Arena League announced that one of its founders, Tim Viens has stepped down, effective immediately. He will also not be a part of the Atlanta Havoc franchise he started.

“The AAL will continue to deliver great games to our fans and will be run by its CEO and President going forward,” AAL President Jack Bowman said in a league statement. “Our teams, our schedule and more importantly our players and fans will not be affected by the transition.”

The American Arena League was founded in April 2017 when the Can-AM Indoor Football League and Arena Pro Football decided to merge into one super league. Since then, three teams have ceased operations, but there are still 13 active teams. The season kicked off on March 17 and will conclude with the championship game on Saturday, June 30.
