The Atlanta Havoc have signed wide receiver Malachi Jones to add to their already stacked and talented roster. Jones was the Offensive Rookie of the Year for the High Country Grizzlies in the National Arena League (NAL) last season.
He caught 66 passes for 685 yards and 16 touchdowns with the Grizzlies last season. Jones will now be joining Thyron Lewis and Ryan McDaniel on the wide receiving core for the expansion Havoc.
Jones may circle May 5 on his calendar. That is when the Havoc travel to High Country to take on the Grizzlies.
The Havoc are owned by co-founder of the American Arena League and owner of the Vermont Bucks, Tim Viens. Vermont joined the AAL after winning the Can-Am Indoor Football League in 2017.
The American Arena League is a merger of the Can-Am league and Arena Pro Football (APF). Teams from the Supreme Indoor Football (SIF), including the two teams that played in the title game, the Triangle Torch and Cape Fear Heroes, have also joined.
The inaugural AAL season will kick off on Saturday, March 17 with a full slate of games. Playoffs will be held the weekend of June 23 and the AAL title game will played on Saturday, June 30.
