Carolina Cobras Head Coach Billy Back on Signing Charles McCullum, Jordan Jolly

The Carolina Cobras were officially introduced during a NAL press conference at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Tuesday. The team also announced two powerful early signings of wide receiver Jordan Jolly and two-time IFL MVP quarterback Charles McCullum.

Both of these all-IFL players have been teammates during the previous two seasons with the Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the IFL, where they were also coached by the newly named Carolina head coach, Billy Back.

“Signing arguably the top duo of the past four years to present in all of Indoor/arena football based off numbers and production means this team is headed in the right direction offensively.” coach Back when asked about the signing of these two familiar faces. “These players will be amongst the top players on the field but their leadership and ability to raise others play around them is second to none.”

Jolly, the 6’2” Texas native, led the IFL in receiving yards, receptions and yards per game during the 2017 season. McCullum was named the IFL MVP for back-to-back seasons in 2016 and 2017. Building a high-powered offense is a must-have for coach Back in this team’s inaugural season.

“Our goal is to maintain the standards we have set year in and year out by being the #1 offense 7 of the last 8 seasons in in passing, total yards and scoring in various leagues.” Back continued, also acknowledging the buzz of popularity these players can bring to the newly-formed team “They will be fan favorites home and away!”
