Arena Football League Philadelphia Soul Tampa Bay Storm

ArenaBowl XXX Preview: Philadelphia Soul vs Tampa Bay Storm

After five months of exciting action in the Arena Football League, they are ready to crown a champion. The Philadelphia Soul and Tampa Bay Storm will face off in ArenaBowl XXX at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA this Saturday to see who will be crowned champions.

Both teams were the two most impressive teams during the regular season. Philadelphia only lost one game and Tampa only lost to one team – Philadelphia. Both team were led by two of the greatest quarterbacks in league history, as well. Dan Raudabaugh has had himself another MVP season, throwing for 3,175 yards and 82 touchdowns.

For the Storm, Randy Hippeard has made an incredible comeback season after tearing his ACL in July 2016. He has thrown for 3,506 yards and 80 touchdowns. Both quarterbacks have had help to back them up, as well.

Raudabaugh had his team of superstar receivers such as Darius Reynolds, Shaun Kauleinamoku and Ryan McDaniel. Hippeard has had future Hall of Fame receiver in Joe Hills, as well as playmaker of the year Kendrick Ings and up and coming receiver LaMark Brown.

The Soul and Storm have met three times this season, with Philadelphia winning all three matchups. In their first meeting, the Soul were able to pull out a four-point win. The other two meetings were dominated by Philadelphia, as they won by an average of 17 points per game.

If Tampa wants to win their sixth ArenaBowl title, they will have to outdo the Soul defense. That is what has kept them down the last two meetings against the Soul. Even in the first meeting, defense proved to be key to the loss for the Storm.

Should Philadelphia win, they would become the first repeat champion since the Arizona Rattlers won three consecutive ArenaBowl titles from 2012-14.
