The Georgia Doom have officially joined the American Arena League. They are the second team to declare that they will join the new league after Central Penn Chargers owner John Dillinger told Inside the Arena his team will be joining the AAL.
The plan is for the team to begin practicing for their first ever season on New Years Day 2018. The Doom will also play their home ball at the Macon Coliseum.
CEO Kevin Adkins said that not only will he be bringing an arena football team to town. He will also be bringing hundreds of jobs to the community of Macon, including internships and junior cheerleading.
“I think it’s going to bring people in from all over the place, and we’re going to have so much revenue coming in. You know the city will be built up. People will love it. I think it’s perfect,” Raeshell Royal told WMAZ-TV (Macon, GA).
