The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired veteran wide receiver Kendal Thompkins on Tuesday. Jeff Gooch, vice president of football operations, made the announcement.
“Kendal has the ability to be a difference maker on offense. He’s a veteran of the game and has shown he can be one of the top receivers in this League when given the opportunity.”
Thompkins (5’10”, 180 lbs.) enters his first season with the Storm after beginning the season with the Baltimore Brigade. In two games with Baltimore, he caught seven passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Thompkins also returned 11 kicks for 166 yards, including a 54-yard return for a touchdown.
Thompkins played collegiate career at his hometown school, the University of Miami. Seeing plenty of the field in his 47 appearances, he caught 14 passes for 152 yards and three scores.
Starting his arena football career with the Orlando Predators in 2014, Thompkins has 198 catches, 2,695 yards, and 38 touchdowns to his credit.
