Philadelphia Soul 2017 Season Preview

The Philadelphia Soul’s run at their second consecutive title begin next weekend. The Soul are the one team that will be on a bye in the league’s first weekend. When they do hit the field, however, they will mean business.

The Soul are coached by Clint Dolziel, who led them to a title last season. He also led the Beijing Lions to a title in the inaugural China Arena Football League season last October.

Also returning to Philly are all the offensive stars that made them great last season include quarterback Dan Raudabaugh and wide receivers Shaun Kauleinamoku, Ryan McDaniel and Darius Reynolds.

The Soul have also added former Arizona Rattlers fullback Mykel Benson. That will make the running game that much better as they already have Jeramie Richardson.

The 2017 Arena Football League season kicks off this Friday as the two expansions teams, the Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade, do battle at the Verizon Center at 7 p.m. ET. The Soul kick off their season on April 15 when they face the Tampa Bay Storm at the Amalie Arena.
