After one week in the National Arena League, there are a lot of things that could be said about the league. Here are a few things that fans could take away from the first week of the new league.
1. The Dayton Wolfpack may be a sneaky team
The Wolfpack were dominated by the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in their first game on Sunday night. Not many are giving them much of a chance being a travel team.
However, the Wolfpack did keep it close for half the game against the Steelhawks. They were even to force a couple turnovers. They have yet to play the Jacksonville Sharks, but if they could pull off an upset of them when they meet, that could be a warning sign for the rest of the league.
2. The Lions aren’t as scary as anticipated
The Columbus Lions were looking like they could be in the Sharks’ tail the entire season. They had finished their last two seasons of play with a title. They also completed an undefeated season in 2016.
However, after their meeting in which Jacksonville declawed the Lions, that doesn’t look like the case. Still, there’s many more games to be played and many more teams for Columbus to play.
3. It’s going to be a long season for the Rage
In their first ever game, the Corpus Christi Rage were blown out by the Monterrey Steel. If this is how they played against the Steel, they’re in for a rude awakening when they play the Sharks.
