Last week the new National Arena League team, the Jacksonville Sharks, announced their television partner for the upcoming 2017 season.
The Sharks are partnering up with CW 17 to broadcast a minimum of four of Jacksonville’s home games this season. The first of these quartet of broadcasts will be the Sharks home opener March 25 against the Georgia Firebirds at 7 p.m. ET from the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
The second game will be the April 29 matchup against the Columbus Lions starting at the same time. The last two broadcasts double dip the Monterrey Steel, the first being the May 20 matchup and the other showcases the season finale on the road to the postseason.
Speaking of postseason, should Jacksonville host a first round playoff game, CW 17 will be there to broadcast the game live July 10. Also, if the Sharks should host the NAL Championship game, which they are heavy favorites to, the game would also be shown on TV, as well.
After the rumors circulating the Sharks’ future in the fall of 2016, it is impressive that the organization landed a TV deal in such a small league, a feat teams in bigger leagues can not boast.
