The Columbus Lions will be having a television partnership with Cable TV of East Alabama. The Lions are partnered with BEAM (Bringing East Alabama More). With the new partnership, the two sides have created a show that is dedicated to the Lions. The very first edition of “ROAR TIME” aired on Feb. 16.
The hour-long show will be hosted by Eric Fowler, who is known as “The Voice of the Lions.” The show will feature Lions head coach Jason Gibson. On the first episode of “ROAR TIME,” Gibson talked about the 2016 season, which ended in a championship for the Lions. Columbus finished 11-0 in order to win the AIF (American Indoor League) Championship.
The Lions are moving on from the AIF as they decided to join the brand new NAL (National Arena League). Gibson mentioned the NAL, and he said that the league will be competitive. He also thinks the league will have stability among its owners. Columbus will be one of eight teams to play in the inaugural season of the NAL.
“ROAR TIME kicks off just one of the shows that we will be partnering with the Columbus Lions to premier this season,” said Melissa Gauntt, Executive Director of Operations. CTV-BEAM looks forward to an exciting season with the Lions and a fun partnership as their signature sponsor.”
Eric Fowler, who is hosting the show, is entering his third season as the PA announcer for the Lions. He has produced audio for companies like Aflac and Synovus, and he is the owner of a production company, Velvet Voice Over Productions. He graduated Southern University with a degree in broadcast journalism. Columbus will begin their season against the Jacksonville Sharks on March 17 at the Columbus Civic Center.
