The Cleveland Gladiators continue to go deep, real deep. On the same day Cleveland brought back one of the best receivers to play the game in Collin Taylor, the Glads added two more wideouts to the team. Cleveland was assigned Brandon Thompkins, 29 and Larry Brackins 34, both playing for the Orlando Predators last season.
On the defensive side, Cleveland also acquired defensive lineman Benjamin Perry from the brand new Baltimore Brigade for receiver Paul Browning. Perry, 25, played for the World Champions Philadelphia Soul in his only AFL season. All three players will be entering their first season with the Gladiators.
The star of the new group is Brandon Thompkins. Thompkins, played everywhere last season with the Preds on his way to an All-Arena and AFL Playmaker of The Year award season. Thompkins, totaled 3,405 yards combining his receiving and returning numbers. Thompkins scored 44 touchdown in 2016, six from kickoff/field goal returns.
It will definitely be fun watching returning and already mobile quarterback Arvell Nelson throw the ball around to a loaded receiving core this season.
