The Philadelphia Soul have re-signed Dwayne Hollis and James Romain. They are two of the Soul’s biggest starts from their ArenaBowl run in 2016.
Hollis recorded tackles for the Soul in 2016. He also intercepted eight passes. Three of those interceptions went for a touchdown. He also scored an end zone to end zone touchdown in ArenaBowl XXIX against the Arizona Rattlers on a fumble.
Romain is coming off not just a great 2016 season, but a great 2016. For the Soul, he recorded 54 tackles and intercepted five passes. Two of those interceptions came in ArenaBowl XXIX, one to clinch the 56-42 victory.
Both Hollis and Romain also spent time in China, as well, as part of the China Arena Football League. Hollis played for the Shanghai Skywalkers. The Skywalkers finished in third place in the league when it ended in Nov. 2016.
Romain was the most versatile player in the entire league. He played on offense, defense and special teams. Him and the Beijing Lions won the inaugural CAFL title.
The Soul will look to repeat as ArenaBowl champions in 2017. They open their season on April 15 against the Tampa Bay Storm.
