The Shanghai Skywalkers dominated the Dalian Dragon Kings on Saturday, winning 63-21, and dropping Dalian to 0-5 in the regular season.
Shanghai took the lead after quarterback Shane Austin found wide receiver Shaun Kauleinamoku for a long touchdown to put Shanghai up. Dalian would respond with one of their own, after Kent Richardson ran for a score but had the PAT blocked.
An Austin pass was intercepted at the goal line by Richardson, but Dalian couldn’t take advantage and Shanghai scored again when Kauleinamoku rushed for his second touchdown. The Skywalkers would then turn an interception and a fumble into 14 points and took a 28-6 lead into the half.
The Skywalkers would score again to begin the second half when Austin threw a touchdown to Kauleinamoku. The Dragon Kings would score to start the third quarter, but Mike Washington would return the ensuing kickoff for a score, and led 35-14. A Dwayne Hollis pick-six would put the icing on the cake. Shanghai will face the Guangzhou Power in the #3 vs #4 game next Saturday while Dalian will face off against the Shenzhen Naja in the last place game.
