Beijing Lions Chinese Arena Football League Dalian Dragon Kings Guangzhou Power Qingdao Clipper Shanghai Skywalkers Shenzen Naja

CAFL Super Series II Preview

Shanghai Skywalkers vs Guangzhou Power

The Skywalkers and Power are both coming off of a close loss. The Power lost their first game against the Clipper after committing two turnovers in the fourth quarter. After overcoming a 40-26 deficit against the Lions, Shanghai attempted a two-point conversion to win in overtime. The conversion failed and they fell to the Lions.

The Power will need to handle the ball better if they want to win their first game of the season. They can keep it close, but they must not commit turnovers. For the Skywalkers, quarterback Shane Austin must call plays in which he can throw deeper passes. He threw mainly short passes in their game against Beijing. He also needs to make Shaun Kauleinamoku his main target. SK caught many passes in the first game, but they didn’t rack up enough yards.

Beijing Lions vs Shenzen Naja

This is the most anticipated game in Super Series II. Both teams are coming off a win in Super Series I. Beijing got off to a strong start against Shanghai and defense stepped up when they attempted a game-winning two point conversion. The Naja scored nine points off of three Dragon King turnovers.

The Naja defense will have their hands full in this game as they will have to cover wide receiver Collin Taylor. Taylor had a great game in Super Series I and will look to repeat that performance in Super Series II.

If Lions get off to a strong start again, they can’t let the powerful Naja offense come back like the Skywalkers did. They need to stay strong throughout the game.

Dalian Dragon Kings vs Qingdao Clipper

The Dragon Kings struggled in their loss to Shenzen, committing three turnovers. They are at a loss without wide receiver Joe Hills, who the Dragon Kings drafted back in the CAFL Draft on June 10.

The Clipper defense proved to be key in their last game against the Power as they forced two turnovers in their opening win.

This game seems like it will be a one-sided affair. The Dragon Kings offense that committed three turnovers will go up against the Clipper defense that forced two key turnovers in their first game.
