The Qingdao Clipper defeated the Guangzhou Power 38-35 in the first ever China Arena Football League game early Saturday morning.
Leading the way for the Clipper was quarterback Bryan Randall, who threw for five touchdowns in the victory.
Wide receiver Reggie Gray scored the first touchdown in Qingdao franchise history, and hauled in a total of four receiving touchdowns in the game.
Defensive back Tanner Varner changed the momentum of the game with a late interception with 9:38 left on the clock.
The Clipper were able to run down the clock and give the Power little time to mount a comeback. With just 23 seconds left, the Power fumbled and the Clipper recovered. This sealed the win for Qingdao.
With the win Qingdao move to 1-0 and will prepare to play Dalian Dragon Kings on Oct. 9 at 7 a.m. ET.
