The inaugural Chinese Arena Football League will kick off tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. ET China time (2 a.m. ET). Six teams will begin their journey towards the first ever CAFL title.
The majority that have watched American Arena Football will know many of the players spread out on the six teams in China. Shaun Kauleinamoku, who won ArenaBowl XXIX with the Philadelphia Soul back on Aug. 26, will be a member of the Shanghai Skywalkers.
Wide receiver Joe Hills, who caught a touchdown in 68 straight games for the Jacksonville Sharks, will be catching passes for the Dalian Dragon Kings. Wide receiver Collin Taylor, who had a long streak of touchdown catches for the Cleveland Gladiators, will be a wide receiver on the Beijing Lions.
The Chinese Arena Football League is a step forward to bringing the name of American football to other countries all over the world. The NFL has brought American football to England (mainly London), college football has brought it to Australia, and now arena football will bring it to China.
