The Chinese Arena Football League has announced that they have struck a partnership with iQIYI, one of China’s leading online network. All games played during the inaugural CAFL season can be viewed on iQIYI, both live and pre-recorded.
As well as the games, there will be a weekly magazine show and some fun features everyday. Chinese announcers will provide both color analysis and play-by-play analysis during each game.
“We are delighted by the enthusiasm iQIYI has demonstrated four our sport,” CAFL Founder and chairman Martin E. Judge said, “our media people met with every one of the major broadcasters and digital networks in China and in the end it was a clear choice for us. iQIYI’s proven track record of young viewership and their promotional power is a perfect fit and we look forward to a great cooperation and success together for many years.”
The inaugural season kicks off on Oct. 1 at the Beijing LeSport Arena in Beijing, China at 2 p.m. (6 a.m. ET) as the Qingdao Clipper take on the Guangzhou Power. The season concludes with championship weekend beginning Nov. 5.
