The Philadelphia Soul will host a celebration on Wednesday to celebrate their victory in ArenaBowl XXIX last Friday. The rally will be held at the City Hall Courtyard at 12 p.m. ET.
After the rally, which will last about 45 minutes, the team will be at Chickie’s and Pete’s in South Philadelphia. The celebration will continue there.
The entire rally is expected to last until 2 p.m. ET. The mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney, will be joined by the Soul coaching and front offic staff, players, dancers and co-owner Ron Jaworski. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Championship merchandise will also be available for sale.
All of the members of the Soul that attend the rally will be at Chickie’s and Pete’s. A DJ will also be there, and drink specials will be available.
“The Soul has brought home a city championship and are proud to recognize this day,” Kenney said, “I declare Wednesday, August 31 2016, ‘Philadelphia Soul World Champions Day’ and hope everyone comes or out to celebrate the Soul for making our city proud.”
The Soul defeated the Arizona Rattlers by a final score of 56-42 in ArenaBowl XXIX last Friday in Glendale, AZ. The title is their second in team history.
