Arena Football League Arizona Rattlers

The Arizona Rattlers Will Win ArenaBowl XXIX Because…

The Arizona Rattlers are obviously the big favorites in this Friday’s ArenaBowl against the Philadelphia Soul. But as the saying goes, that’s why they play the game. As the week to kick off of ArenaBowl starts, here are a few reasons why the Arizona Rattlers will claim their fourth title in five years:

• home field advantage

The Rattlers enjoy an advantage at home like none other in the AFL. Since the 2012 season, Arizona has lost at home only four times. But on Friday night, for the first time in the teams 24 year history, the team will play a home game somewhere other than the Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix.

Despite the change of venues, the lower bowl has been sold out, which means a ton of loud and proud Rattler fans to cheer on their team. They will need to feed off the energy of their fans to deliver another title to Phoenix.

• Defense

The Rattlers defense has been on another level this season. Arizona has held opponents to 47 points per game this season. That has been the key to their season success this year, just like it was for the super bowl champion Denver Broncos last year. The Rattlers defense will once again step up to the challenge, this time being Dan Radabaugh and the Soul.

• Nick Davila

Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila thrives in these games. The future hall of famer is 14-3 in the playoffs, and only one of those losses has been at home. However, that one loss was in ArenaBowl XXIV, when the Jacksonville Sharks won on the final play of the game. This time, Davila is poised to ensure no such thing happens again.

The Rattlers go for their sixth ArenaBowl title as they host Philadelphia on Friday night.
