The Arizona Rattlers wrapped up yet another successful regular season on Sunday night, beating the Cleveland Gladiators 68-20 in front of over 12,000 fans at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
In a rematch of ArenaBowl XXVII, the end result was almost the same as Arizona’s 72-32 blowout victory to claim their third straight title. After a safety on the very first play of the game, Arizona’s Anthony Amos took the ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown. After a Gladiators four and out, quarterback Nick Davila found Amos again in the endzone to put the Rattlers up 15-0. Before the Gladiators knew what had hit them, they were down 42-7 and on their way to their worst defeat of the season.
With the win, the Rattlers finish the regular season at 13-3. Now they need the Orlando Predators to lose their season finale to the Philadelphia Soul next week in order to clinch homefield advantage throughout the ArenaBowl.
