The Arizona Rattlers are moving on, again.
Quarterback Nick Davila threw for 209 yards in two and a half quarters, and the Rattlers blew out the Portland Steel 84-40 to advance to their fifth straight conference championship game.
The Rattlers used their dominant defense to generate offense early on, getting two stops on special teams and defense to get a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. The Rattlers offense finally scored when Davila hit Anthony Amos for consecutive touchdowns and before the Steel knew what had it then, it was 49-14 at the break. Arizona was in complete control minutes into the third quarter that coach Kevin Guy pulled Davila to prepare for next week.
While the Rattlers move on, the Steel go home. A big question for the Steel is their future. The league took over the franchise prior to the start of the season, and the team needs an owner to continue playing. The Portland TrailBlazers have “pretty much decided not to buy the Steel” according to the Portland Tribune, and there are reports that if the team does play next season, it could be in Sacramento.
