Arena Football League Orlando Predators Philadelphia Soul

2016 Week 18 Preview: Predators vs Soul

The Orlando Predators will face off against the Philadelphia Soul at the AmWay Center in Orlando, FL on Saturday evening. There is a lot on the line for this game, not just for these two teams, but for the Arizona Rattlers, as well.

The winner of this game will host the Tampa Bay Storm in the first round of the Arena Football League playoffs during the weekend of Aug. 6 and 7. The loser will host the Jacksonville Sharks in the playoffs.

There is more to the story, however. If the Soul win, the Rattlers will be the #1 overall seed going into the playoffs. If the Predators win, they will be the #1 overall seed.

The Soul and Predators have met one this season. Back on May 21, the Soul knocked off the then undefeated Predators. The Predators will be looking for revenge.

The Predators have a new quarterback in Bernard Morris. Randy Hippeard tore his ACL earlier this season and is out for the remainder of the season. In his absence, Morris has thrown for 2,966 yards and 65 touchdowns.

Not only that, but he also leads the team in rushing (144 yards rushing, seven touchdowns). The Soul defense will have their hands full with Morris, as well as wide receivers Brandon Thompkins and Greg Carr.

The Soul offense is also an explosive one. Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh, who is up for the AFL MVP award, has thrown for 3,968 yards and 93 touchdowns. He has great receivers in Darius Reynolds and Shaun Kauleinamoku, as well as one of the best running backs in the league in Jermaie Richardson.

With two of the best offenses facing off, this game is expected to go down to the wire. Not only that, but there is a lot at stake in this game, as well.
