Arena Football League Arizona Rattlers Orlando Predators

2016 Week 16 Preview: Rattlers vs Predators

The top two teams face off Week 16 in the biggest game of the year for the Arena Football League. This will be a game that will have definite playoff impact on who will be the top seed in the postseason.

The Arizona Rattlers (11-3) are a force at home with a perfect six wins. Quarterback Nick Davila in 14 games has 3,686 pass yards, 96 touchdowns and a 122 QB rating. The top Arizona target has been receiver Rod Windsor, scoring 40 touchdowns with 1,505 receiving yards.

Arizona is coming off of an impressive win last week over the Jacksonville Sharks. Arizona was led by Windsor, who scored six touchdowns on 10 receptions, totaling 108 yards. That earned him Player of the Week honors. Davila added nine passing touchdowns.

The Orlando Predators (12-2) are traveling into the “Snake Pit”for the first time this season after beating the Rattlers at home earlier this season.

Quarterback Bernard Morris has settled perfectly into the starting spot after the Predators lost Randy Hippeard with a torn ACL. Morris led the team to victory in last week’s 47-41 fourth quarter comeback over the Portland Steel. He scored twice, both on touchdown passes to wide receiver Brandon Thompkins.

Orlando has the number one seed in the overall post season rankings, and Arizona is ranked second. With the win, Arizona will grab the top seed to secure home field advantage through the playoffs, and would be guaranteed to host Arena Bowl XXIX if they advance that far.

This game features the top two teams in the AFL battling it out over the top spot. This possible Arena Bowl preview will air on Monday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. PT, on ESPN3.
