Washington D.C Team to Unveil Team Name, Colors July 14

The Washington D.C based Arena Football League, who will begin play in 2017, will unveil the team name and colors at 11:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 14.

The team announced it will begin play in 2017 back on March 16, two weeks before the season began. The team hired Dean Cokinos as the team’s first ever head coach back on May 5. The team will play their home games at the Verizon Center, home of the NBA’s Washington Wizards.

2017 will be the 30th season of the Arena Football League. As it stands right now, the Washington team will be the ninth  team to play in the league. AFL commissioner Scott Butera announced that the league was in talks with several other cities, looking to expand with more teams.
