Of all eight teams, only three have starting quarterbacks that have been the starter since Week 1 – the Philadelphia Soul, the Arizona Rattlers and the Jacksonville Sharks. Nick Davila and Dan Raudabaugh have lead their teams to a hot start through 13 weeks of play while Tommy Grady has his team currently at 5-7 and third in the American Conference behind the Soul and Orlando Predators.
Yesterday, we ranked the five backups starting for their team. Today, we’re ranking the three quarterbacks who have been there the whole time.
3. Tommy Grady
Grady has been a mediocre quarterback in 2016. He has thrown for 3,424 yards and 66 touchdowns and just six interceptions. While the interception is count is half that of Raudabaugh, the fact that Grady has his team at a 5-7 mark is why is the third best of all three day one quarterbacks in the Arena Football League.
2. Dan Raudabaugh
The Soul quarterback is the reigning MVP. While he does have great numbers (3,395 yards passing, 77 touchdowns) he also has thrown 12 interceptions, which is unlike him. Still, he has led his team to a 10-3 record and has led them to knock off the other two top teams in the AFL in the Rattlers and Predators.
1. Nick Davila
Davila is showing that he is a big candidate for the 2016 AFL MVP. He has thrown for 3,431 yards and an amazing 88 touchdowns to nine interceptions. The 88:9 touchdown to interception ratio is clearly the biggest in the league this season. If Davila can stay consistent and play the way he had been playing all season, he could see himself with an MVP award and possibly another Arena Bowl title.
